Some love stories are guided by familiarity. Others are driven by trust, curiosity, and a willingness to leap into the unknown. Sasha and William’s Seattle elopement was beautifully rooted in the latter.
Traveling from New Jersey, Sasha and William chose to elope in Seattle, Washington without ever having visited before. Drawn in by photographs of the Pacific Northwest — misty coastlines, dramatic architecture, and mountain views — they trusted Seattle to deliver something meaningful, intimate, and unforgettable. It absolutely did.
Their wedding day was intentionally simple and thoughtfully paced. In just four hours, they were able to experience several sides of Seattle while keeping the day relaxed, unrushed, and personal — with all locations within about 30 minutes of one another.
Starting the Day at Discovery Park
The day began quietly at Discovery Park, where Sasha and William exchanged vows together on the beach — just the two of them. The sound of the water, open views, and space to slow down made it an ideal place to begin the day privately before heading into the city.
Discovery Park is one of Seattle’s most accessible nature spots, and it’s perfect for couples who want a natural, peaceful setting without committing to a long drive or hike on their wedding day.
Photos at the University of Washington
From there, we headed to the University of Washington campus for portraits. The shift from the beach to the architecture was seamless and added so much variety to their gallery. The campus offers a mix of historic buildings, quiet walkways, and unique vantage points that feel elevated without being formal.
This part of the day felt easy — walking, talking, and enjoying being together before meeting up with family and friends later on.
A Rooftop Ceremony at the Seattle Municipal Courthouse
The final stop of the day was the Seattle Municipal Courthouse, where Sasha and William were joined by their immediate family and closest friends for their civil ceremony. The ceremony takes place on the rooftop, offering open city views and, on clear days, a clear view of Mount Rainier in the distance.
Sharing this moment with loved ones brought a different kind of energy to the day — joyful, grounded, and full of connection — perfectly balancing the quiet intimacy of the morning.
Thoughtful Details That Made the Day Theirs
Sasha carried a bouquet from Pike Place Market, a simple but meaningful detail that tied the day to the city. Throughout the elopement, there were so many personal, custom touches woven in — details that reflected who they are and how they wanted their day to feel.
Nothing felt rushed or overproduced. Everything felt intentional, relaxed, and true to them.
Turning Their Elopement Into a Washington Experience
Later that week, Sasha and William explored Mount Rainier, hiking and taking in the landscapes that first inspired them to choose Washington. Their elopement became part of a bigger experience — one rooted in adventure, presence, and shared memories.
Why Seattle Works So Well for Elopements
Sasha and William’s day highlights one of the biggest advantages of eloping in Seattle: proximity. In just four hours, they were able to:
- Exchange private vows on the beach
- Take portraits among iconic architecture
- Share a ceremony with loved ones
- Travel less than 30 minutes between each location
Seattle makes it possible to create a wedding day that feels full and meaningful without feeling rushed or overwhelming.
