Dannise & Andrew’s Seattle Wedding

Dannise and Andrew’s wedding day was a beautiful blend of tradition, celebration, and unmistakable Seattle character. From a classic Catholic ceremony on Capitol Hill to a waterfront reception aboard a vintage ferry on Lake Union, their day unfolded with intention, joy, and so much heart.

Ceremony at St. Joseph Parish | Capitol Hill

They were married at St. Joseph Parish in Capitol Hill, a stunning traditional Catholic church filled with stained glass, historic artwork, and architectural details that give the space a timeless, reverent feel. The ceremony felt meaningful and grounded, made even more special by blue skies outside and the presence of their closest family and friends. Dannise carried a colorful bouquet that added a vibrant contrast to the classic setting, and their wedding party brought an energy that was relaxed, joyful, and full of personality.

Reception on The MV Skansonia | Lake Union

After the ceremony, guests made their way to the reception aboard The MV Skansonia, a retired ferry docked on the north end of Lake Union with sweeping views of the Seattle skyline. Cocktail hour took place on the bow of the boat as the sun glistened across the lake, with city views stretching out in every direction.

The reception space was filled with thoughtful, custom details—from the table settings to the party favors—that reflected Dannise and Andrew’s personalities and the care they put into the experience for their guests.

Meaningful Toasts & Traditions

The toasts were especially meaningful, with both dads, the maid of honor, and the best man sharing stories that brought laughter, emotion, and a sense of connection into the room.

One of the most memorable moments of the night was the Filipino money dance, a tradition that honors the couple while symbolizing prosperity, support, and community as they begin married life. Guests pin money to the bride and groom as they dance, offering well wishes and celebrating the couple’s future together. It was joyful, energetic, and filled with love—an experience that brought everyone onto the dance floor.

Dancing the Night Away on Lake Union

The celebration continued with a sing-along karaoke moment between the bride and her father, a joyful mother-son dance, and a dance floor that stayed full well into the night. As the evening went on, city lights reflected across the water outside, creating a glowing backdrop that felt undeniably Seattle and undeniably special.

Dannise and Andrew’s wedding was a perfect example of how meaningful traditions, personal moments, and a strong sense of place can come together to create something unforgettable. From Capitol Hill to Lake Union, their day felt thoughtful, vibrant, and full of genuine joy.
