A Windy, Playful Engagement Session on the Washington Coast
There’s something about the Washington coast that always keeps you guessing. Bree and Connor’s engagement session in Seabrook started with uncertain weather, dark clouds, and the kind of forecast that makes you wonder if you’ll have to pivot. But as it so often does out here, the weather shifted. The sun broke through, a light sprinkle rolled in, and we ended up with the dreamiest mix of coastal light, wind, and soft beach tones.
It felt like the perfect reflection of who these two are: playful, easygoing, and fully willing to embrace whatever the day brought.
Why Seabrook is Perfect for Engagement Photos
Nestled along the Washington coast near Pacific Beach and Ocean Shores, Seabrook is one of the most underrated spots for engagement photos in Washington.
This thoughtfully designed beach town has charming architecture, cozy streets, beach access, and a relaxed coastal feel that makes it feel straight out of a postcard. It’s ideal for couples wanting a mix of editorial, candid, and adventurous engagement photos without having to choose just one backdrop.
We started their session in town, walking through Seabrook’s main street, where even the Town Hall feels cinematic. Between the storefronts, the quiet roads, and the ocean air drifting in, it gave us the perfect place to ease into the evening.
Embracing the Wild Washington Coast
Once we made our way down to the beach, the energy shifted in the best way.
The wind picked up, the air got colder, and the coast did what it does best: got a little wild.
Instead of fighting it, Bree and Connor leaned all the way in.
No stressing about hair blowing everywhere or getting sandy. No trying to control the moment. Just laughter, trust, and letting the coast shape the session.
One of my favorite moments was Bree sitting on Connor’s shoulders, trying to pour champagne into his mouth while the wind completely took over. It was chaotic, hilarious, and made for some of the most fun photos of the night.
Those unplanned moments always end up being the ones that feel the most real.
Ending Their Engagement Session in the Ocean
As the sun dropped lower, Bree and Connor ran straight into the freezing water and let the waves hit.
It was windy, cold, and absolutely worth it.
Those final moments felt effortless. Windswept, playful, messy in the best way, and full of the kind of energy that makes engagement sessions feel less about posing and more about documenting what it feels like to be together.
The beach tones, soft skies, and movement from the wind made everything feel so natural and cinematic.
Counting Down to Their Mt. Rainier Elopement
What I loved most about this session is how much it feels like the beginning of something bigger.
In just a couple of months, Bree and Connor will be heading to Mount Rainier National Park for their elopement, and after spending this evening with them, I already know it’s going to be incredible.
If their Seabrook engagement photos are any indication, their Mt. Rainier elopement will be full of adventure, spontaneity, and meaningful moments you can’t script.
And that’s exactly what makes Washington such an incredible place to get married.
From coastal towns like Seabrook to the alpine landscapes of Mount Rainier National Park, there’s no shortage of places for couples who want their wedding day to feel connected to nature and true to who they are.
